Fries are the ultimate accompaniment to almost every sandwich, burger, or wrap, encapsulating the essence of informal dining.
But if you believe you've seen all regarding this pervasive aspect, you're in for a surprise. A special new spin on fries is coming to certain KFC restaurants, and it's a doozy.
KBP Brands, the largest KFC franchisee in the United States, has just announced that funnel cake fries would be offered in 77 KFC restaurants beginning this week.
The Funnel Cake Fries are offered in three sizes and price points: small ($1.99), large ($2.99), and family ($5.00).
These "fries" are crispy on the exterior, soft and fluffy on the inside, and topped with powdered sugar, and are sure to transport you back to cool autumn evenings.
Even better, unlike traditional funnel cakes, these snackable dessert sticks are conveniently packaged for on-the-go snacking.
KBP reports that the sweet side, which was initially soft-launched in the Kansas City area in fall, has fast become a viral sensation, prompting this expansion.
If the Funnel Cake Fries continue to be popular in their Midwest locations, it is likely that additional areas may add them to their menu in 2023.
